Sonica Beckmann

Founder, House of Kind

Sonica Beckmann is a British Asian entrepreneur, an England and Wales qualified solicitor with over a decade of international legal experience, and the founder of the London based womenswear brand House of Kind. Raised in a low-income migrant household, she was the first in her family to attend university and went on to build a distinguished legal career across major multinational organisations. By the age of 31, she had been appointed Head of Legal at a multi-billion dollar multinational company.

Sonica’s time in senior corporate environments gave her a nuanced understanding of workplace culture, power structures, and the persistent challenges women face professionally. In 2023, she made the decision to diversify from law to pursue a long-held vision. She founded House of Kind with a clear purpose: to create beautifully designed, high-quality boardroom to bar clothing that celebrates women’s authenticity, fosters genuine connection, and makes visible the solidarity between women at every stage of their careers.

Although House of Kind launched in November 2024, the brand has rapidly gained recognition for its purposeful approach to fashion and impact led growth- and is now stocked in a number of boutiques and even sold internationally. In 2025, it was awarded Retail Partner of the Year by Dress for Success Greater London, recognising its meaningful collaboration and contribution to empowering women through clothing and charitable engagement. The brand was also shortlisted as a finalist in the Community Initiative category at TheIndustry.fashion People, Planet & Purpose Awards, reflecting its commitment to community and social impact. In the same year, Sonica was named one of Surrey Magazine’s “25 Women to Watch,” and a UK40 Under 40 winner, acknowledging her influence as a leader operating at the intersection of business and social purpose. Most recently, House of Kind was shortlisted for a Drapers Conscious Fashion Award for its statement collaboration T shirt with 50:50 Parliament, designed to encourage women to take a seat at the table and engage in public life.

House of Kind blends affordable luxury tailoring with a values driven ethos rooted in the belief that kindness is a powerful form of leadership. The brand champions inclusivity and partners with organisations including Women for Women International, Dress for Success Greater London, Stonewall UK and 50:50 Parliament to support women’s economic independence, representation, and long-term empowerment.

Beyond her work as a founder, Sonica is a mother of two and active in wider leadership and civic circles. She is a member of Rotary Club London and regularly speaks on entrepreneurship, social mobility, and inclusive business. She balances her professional commitments with her role as a mother and uses her platform to share reflections on purpose driven leadership, ambition, and building communities that uplift women.

Sonica Beckmann’s journey from law to fashion places her at the intersection of business, creativity, and cultural impact. Through House of Kind, she continues to build both a brand and a movement grounded in the belief that when women support one another, meaningful progress follows.
