Yarn-Dyed : 

• The yarns (threads) are dyed before being knitted, rather than dyeing the finished fabric/garment.
• Yarn-dyed means that the yarns (threads) are dyed before the fabric is knitted/woven, not printed after. This tends to give better durability of stripes/colour, and the pattern is visible on both sides of the fabric.

Waffle :  

• Waffle knit/fabric (often called waffle weave or honeycomb texture) has a raised grid-/honeycomb-type texture which aids breathability and adds texture.
• Waffle-pique — a textured knit with little grid or square “pockets” (raised ridges and recessed areas) that trap air.
• In the woven version, the structure uses combinations of warp‑ and weft‑floats around plain weave centres to form the raised ridges and hollows.

240 GSM : 

• 240 GSM is a solid mid‑heavy weight for kids full‑sleeve T‑shirt. It should give the garment good body, texture and durability without being overly heavy. Make sure the supplier confirms GSM, and that the fabric has been pre‑washed or shrinkage accounted for.

 Yarn Dyed Stripes:

• The stripes should be created by dyeing the yarns before the fabric is made (not printed). This gives better colourfastness. Make sure the waffle fabric supplier/garment maker accommodates this.

Full Sleeve :  

• The fabric weight (~240 GSM) should be appropriate for full sleeves (i.e., an “all‑season” piece, not ultra thin). For kids, ensure the cut and sleeve length are comfortable and not overly heavy.

        Waffle fabric is a very appropriate choice for a kids’ full‑sleeve striped T‑shirt. Its textured appearance, cotton comfort, and body make it suitable. Ensuring that the fabric meets 100% cotton, is yarn dyed stripes, has the waffle texture, and around 240 GSM will give you a quality garment.
