Additionally, Peru’s cotton farming follows traditional, small-scale, and ethical practices that support local communities and promote responsible production.  Alpaca fiber is sustainable because alpacas have a low environmental impact: they graze gently without damaging land, eat and drink very efficiently, and produce lower methane emissions. Their fiber requires minimal processing (no lanolin), comes in many natural colors, and is durable and biodegradable. Alpaca shearing is humane, making the entire process eco-friendly and ethical.
